Our System
Two Virtuous Cycles
The Strategic Intelligent Packaging (SIP) System is built around two process cycles:
- The Doctor/Patient Cycle
- The SmartPack Cycle
The first is an efficient, secure process by which a medical practitioner can have a test or treatment safely provided to a patient and receive the results or report.
The second is a closed-loop product journey that maximises manufacturing sustainability, while transforming many individual medical procedures into de-identified ‘big data’ to power sophisticated public health management.

The SIP SmartPack
This is clever procedural packaging, providing the healthcare worker with everything needed to conduct a specific medical procedure for a patient, all in the one pack. No more running around collecting the components and vials – they’re all in the one SmartPack.
Add to this convenience the power of digital intelligence. The SmartPack has onboard digital identifiers that are scanned by the SIP App to ensure that the medication in the package isn’t counterfeit, that it matches what was prescribed by the doctor, and that it doesn’t react with anything else on the patient’s medical record.
This intelligence also saves the healthcare worker having to spend time keying data into a system: it’s all done seamlessly by the SIP App.
SmartPack can be used for prevention (inoculation), treatment (medication) and diagnosis.
The SIP App
Installed on the healthcare worker’s smartphone or tablet, the SIP App is used to scan each SmartPack.
Checking the SmartPack identifiers against electronic health records, the SIP App quickly assesses five elements of safety: the medication is not counterfeit, it matches the drug and dose of the prescription, it is not contraindicated with any of the patient’s other medicines, it has not expired, and there has been no break in the cold chain.

For ease of use, the SIP App applies a simple ‘traffic light’ interface:
- •
- Red Do not use.
- •
- Amber Stand by: validation in progress
- •
- Green Safe to use.
Once the procedure has been provided, the SIP App:
- •
- Updates the patient’s medical record
- •
- Updates the inventory control record
- •
- Generates epidemiological data for public health and regulatory use
Instead of entering data, the healthcare worker can move on to the next patient.
